Participation Agreement 

 

• The design(s) that you are submitting are images of original artwork created by yourself and is not a copy or reproduction of the art of another. 

• Images you have submitted do not violate the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyright, or other intellectual property rights of any person or entity.  

• You will not post, distribute, or reproduce in any way any copyrighted material, trademarks, or other proprietary information without obtaining the prior written consent of the owner of such proprietary rights.

Organizer Rights 

 

• The organizer reserves the right to change competition criteria, deadlines dates at any time due to circumstances beyond its control.  

• The organizer also reserves the right to disqualify any poster that does not meet the requirements listed in the submission guidelines, specifications, and rules. 

• The organizer has the right to terminate all relations with designer/artist/ illustrator/ photographer who infringes copyright upon our receipt of a notice of infringement from the copyright owner or the copyright owner's legal counsel.  

• The winning artwork will become the sole and official property of the organizer. Upon ownership, the organizer is irrevocably granted and assigned, without restriction or limitation, a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty free, perpetual license to use, publish, modify, adapt, translate, create derivative works, distribute and display your work and personal information as the creator if necessary (specifically your name, grade (if a student) and city/country of residence), for displays online, customized printed posters, promotions, educational materials and other purposes throughout the world via any media now known or hereinafter devised.  

• The organizer reserves the right to request proof of identity, nationality and location of the three (3) finalists for the purpose of validating the specified eligibility for the competition. 

• The organizer reserves the right to cancel the 2021 Design Competition if less than five qualifying submissions are received during the competition period. The determination of qualified entries is at the sole discretion of the ID4Africa General Secretariat.

 

 

Artist’s Rights 

 

• The selected winner will retain the rights to the artwork for the purpose of portfolio-building. However the artwork and future use thereof must be authorized by the organizer and should not be used in other competitions or events unrelated to International Identity day 2021. 

• At any time, after the conclusion of the competition, participants can send us an email at contact@id-day.org requesting that we delete your data and images. We will confirm the receipt of the email and your images will be deleted within 3 business days after having received and acknowledged your request. 

 

 

Accountability  

 

If you believe any of the artwork posted on our website has been plagiarized in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please provide us with the following information to our email: contact@id-day.org.  ​

• A description of and proof concerning the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed 

• The item name and description of the allegedly infringed material located on our website 

• Your address, telephone number, and email address.

 

Indemnity

All participants agree to indemnify and hold ID4Africa as the organizer, its employees, the judges, the Grand Sponsor, and all Coalition Partners in support of International Identity Day, harmless and exempt from any loss, liability, claim, or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, relating to any claim made by any third party due to or arising out of your violation of any of the foregoing terms and conditions and/or any breach of your agreements, and representations established in this competition.
